Hi, and welcome to ExpenseSplit.
ExpenseSplit started from a problem I've seen again and again in everyday life. Whether it was splitting restaurant bills with friends, dividing rent and utilities with roommates, or managing costs during group trips, the same question always seemed to come up: "Who owes whom?"
What should have been a simple calculation often became confusing. Someone paid for dinner, someone else booked the accommodation, another person covered fuel costs, and before long people were scrolling through messages trying to figure everything out.
I created ExpenseSplit because I wanted a simpler solution.
Instead of forcing people to download another app, create accounts, or learn complicated software, I wanted to build practical tools that solve specific expense-sharing problems quickly and clearly.
Today, ExpenseSplit includes calculators and guides for trips, roommates, restaurants, grocery sharing, subscriptions, weddings, and many other situations where people need a fair way to divide costs.
My goal is simple: help people spend less time calculating expenses and more time enjoying the experiences they're sharing.

Different situations need different approaches. Instead of guessing which calculator to use, start with your situation below and follow the path.
Most people start with one calculator and later discover they need another. For example, a trip group might first split Airbnb costs, then divide fuel, then settle who owes whom afterwards.

Many people actually use more than one tool. For example, a group trip might require an Airbnb cost split, fuel cost split, restaurant bill split, and debt settlement calculation before everyone is square.
Choose the tool that matches your biggest expense first, then use additional tools if needed.
Not everyone needs another app on their phone. Some people simply want a quick answer, while others need long-term expense tracking. Here's how the two approaches compare.
If you need a quick answer like "Who owes what?", "How much should each roommate pay?" or "How do we split this Airbnb bill?", a browser-based calculator is often faster.
If you're managing expenses every day, tracking spending history and maintaining long-term records, a dedicated expense app may be the better choice.
Many people actually use both: calculators for quick decisions and apps for long-term financial tracking.
